Schedule: 7:30am–5:30pm (Mon–Fri)

Our out of school care program is open to Nanaimo Christian School students from kindergarten to grade 5. Our program is located on the NCS campus in the lower level of Building B. For our kindergarten through grade 2 students, someone from the staff team will drop them off and pick them up from their building. Students in grades 3 through 5 walk themselves to and from our program.

Children in our out of school care program receive high quality care from staff who are passionate about working with school age children. Our programs are designed to create a relaxing environment for children, where they can engage in things that are of interest to them. Each room has a wide variety of age appropriate activities to choose from including art supplies, building materials, games, and a lot of creative opportunities. We also provide plenty of outdoor activities.

 

​How to Apply

All of our registration is done through our online system called Esikidz. 

Follow the steps below to submit your registration:

Step 1: Join the Waitlist
To add your child to the waitlist, click here.

Step 2: Enrollment Invitation
When a space becomes available that matches your application, you will receive an email to see if that class still works for you.

Step 3: Complete Application
Once you confirm you’d like to enroll, you will receive an email from Esikidz confirming enrollment. You will now need to complete your application.

To complete enrollment, you will need:

 

• Your child’s Personal Health Number (Care Card)

• Immunization record (available through the BC Services Card app or BC Health Gateway)

• An up-to-date photo of your child (preferably a headshot)

Step 4: Confirmation & Fee

Once your paperwork has been reviewed and confirmed, you will be notified of when your child can start.

Fees listed below are after the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (FRI), which helps make child care more affordable.

About FRI: The Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative helps participating licensed child care providers reduce and stabilize monthly child care fees. Families do not need to apply, and savings are passed directly to families.

 

Statutory Holidays, Vacation, Pro D Days

Our Before and After school care will be open for extended hours of care, for an additional fee, on NCS Professional Days and most school breaks, not including summer. Before and After school care will be closed for statutory holidays.
 

Parents/Guardians are given the option to sign up for extra care on professional days and school breaks. We require a minimum of 5 students to be signed up in order for the center to be open. Parents/Guardians will be notified one week prior if this minimum has not been met.
