This week we once again welcomed parents and grandparents into the Nanaimo Christian School gym for the Grade 3–5 performance of their incredible student-produced opera — and what a show it was! This year’s theme brought the story of Noah’s Ark to life in a creative and joyful way.
The annual production brings together all six Grade 3–5 classrooms in a collaborative performance where students tell the story through song, acting, and stage production. Our students worked incredibly hard, writing more than 10 original songs and bringing them to life with fantastic costumes, acting, and singing.
What makes this production especially unique is that students are involved in every part of the show. They wrote and performed the music, designed and built the props, created the costumes, and even ran the lighting, sound, and slides.
A huge thank you to all the students and staff in Grades 3–5 for their dedication and creativity, and a special thank you to Mrs. Melanie Vanstone, our elementary music teacher, for guiding and inspiring students to produce such an amazing show!
