Hard building costs: $6,885,000.00

Soft building costs (design): $495,000.00

Demolition/Hazmat existing building: $350,000.00

Civil/Parking lot reconstruction: $950,000.00

 

New classroom facility: We’re planning for a new 25,000 sq.ft. building with potentially 18 learning spaces that will replace the portables to provide academic and social areas where students can study and fellowship.

Estimated Cost: $7.4 million

Status: Future planning

 

Lobby/office/classrooms: An expansion of Building B will allow for more staffing, learning spaces, and opportunities for students. The addition would include: a more welcoming school lobby, more functional and additional administration spaces, an extended science lab, two additional classrooms and an upgraded learning commons.

 

Adjacent forest: We’re partnering with the City of Nanaimo to develop an adjacent one-acre forest that will preserve the green space and accommodate community outdoor learning and play space. In progress

 

Adjacent field: We’re pursuing the ability to purchase an adjacent 4.1-acre property to allow for additional field space and the ability to explore steps for future expansion. COMPLETED 2022

 

Evergreen strategy: Strategic planning and funding for long-term, ongoing maintenance are a priority to ensure Nanaimo Christian School’s sustainability and impact in the future.
