In his weekly video for students, Mr. Sijpheer takes us to his office and shows us his Edmonton Oilers' fan memorabilia. Yes, hockey season starts this week, and he is one of those Oilers fans who keeps hoping maybe this will be the year.
Mr. Sijpheer reminds us that there are so many things out of our control: who will win the Stanley Cup, when COVID will end, family problems, financial problems, illnesses and more. If we go looking for hope in the world, we won't find it.
Apart from God it's hard to see any hope, but we can have hope with God's help. When we turn to Him and trust Him, He shows us the way and gives us hope. (Psalm 25) When we put our hope in Him, He will not disappoint us. (Romans 5)
